Chikkaballapura is the district in the state of Karnataka, India. It was carved out of the existing Kolar district in 2007.
Chikkaballapura district is a major site for different agriculture and allied activities such as Dairying, Sericulture and Horticulture.
KOMUL was separated from Bangalore Union in 1987 KOMUL started procuring 1.65 lakh litres of milk in the districts of Kolar & Chikkaballapura.
Mega Dairy was established in 2018 with a processing capacity of 3.0 to 5.0 LLPD of milk .
Chikkaballapura District Co-operative Milk Union Ltd.(CHIMUL) is bifurcated from Kolar Milk Union on 25.09.2024. CHIMUL has spread across 08 Talukas which has a total of 979 functional Primary Milk Cooperative Societies (MPCS) including 123 women societies.
Union is procuring on an average 4.55 Lakh Kg of milk per day and milk is collecting thorough the BMCs only.
Union has milk sales of about 2.5 LLPD in Chikkaballapura & part of Bangalore, curd sales of about 50,000 Kgs, 20,000 litres of milk is being issued for production of Paneer every day, 1.50 LLPD of milk is being issued for UHT and flexi milk production.
Every week union is paying Rs.12 crores to Milk producers.
